L’objectif put on a show to remember at Brudenell Social Club
The band performed in the Brudenell Community room.
L’objectif have hit the ground running this year with their self-produced EP The Left Side and UK headline tour. Coming out with roses (as every gent should – boys take notes!) the Leeds quartet won over the crowd with their mesmerising set here at Brudenell Social Club’s Community Room.
Both support acts — Gravy and About Faces — received a warm and gracious welcoming from the sold out crowd for their sets. The crowd certainly helped the Community Room at Brudenell Social live up to its name with roars of cheers and not a single person was stood still the entire night. Both bands are local to Leeds and have certainly gained a whole roomful of listeners and we look forward to the work that they’ve got coming up ahead of the year via their respective social media platforms.
L’objectif certainly surpassed all expectations I had of the band as they kick started the night after an A.I / Siri-style voice fills the room with “Hit the fucking drums”. Who knew musicians could follow instructions? Frontman Saul Kane gave his all and then some more for the band’s hometown gig. In fact, they all did. The whole night was about four best friends celebrating the love they have for one another and music and we, the crowd, were honoured to share this moment with them.
The set itself saw the entirety of The Left Side in full as well as many fan favourites from their earlier discography. We had seas of bobbing heads, people climbing up on shoulders and God knows how many mosh pits. Kane himself was constantly egging the crowd on, getting them to form circle moshes, having people on the floor and being an all-around cheeky and lovable man.
These boys certainly aren’t slowing down anytime soon with the second half of their tour in June. To find out more about L’objectif and their plans for the summer, check out their socials for all the latest news, gig releases and, who knows, maybe new music…
Saul, Louis, Ezra and Dan, on behalf of Leeds I can safely say: this city loves you.
