If I asked you to name another band doing it like black midi, you wouldn’t know what to say. Truth be told, nobody is doing it like the trio, and the lyricism of Geordie Greep is something so intellectually articulate yet satirical that it must be praised.

It’s not every day you come across a band that seem to have it all worked out: strange press photos, elusive Windmill gigs as the ‘house band’, non-stop tours, consistent music releases, and yet still seem to be one of the most relaxed bands around. How can you be so chill when you’ve got such a large fanbase hanging on your every absurdity?

Love them or hate them, you can’t help but be intrigued. Welcome To Hell is nothing if not black midi in a nutshell. It’s a rollercoaster ride — one you think you’ve been on before but, just when you think it’s over, it jolts you back into action again.
