Dot to Dot 2022 boasts the likes of Squid, Swim Deep and a whole lot more

Dot to Dot takes place in Bristol on the 28th of May and Nottingham on the 29th.

Dot to Dot Festival is renowned, and for good reason. The multi-venue festival based in Bristol and Nottingham has been showcasing the best new artists for seventeen years (!). With previous line-ups boasting Foals, Metronomy, Wolf Alice and The 1975, it’s apparent that the team know what they’re doing.

The festival continues its legacy of great line-ups this year, presenting the perfect range of artists and genres. Some of the 2022 line-up’s biggest names consist of post-punk experimental newcomers Squid, grime star Ghetts, indie icon Alfie Templeman and indie-pop artist Baby Queen (who features on the soundtrack for Netflix’s beloved Heartstopper). But that’s not all – there are plenty of other artists that we can’t wait to see later this month. From the experimental greatness of Nine8 Collective to revolutionary punk-rap band Bob Vylan. Other fantastic artists to look out for are FEET, Just Mustard, Bleach Lab, Jockstrap, Lime Garden and many, many more.

It’s hard to talk about Dot to Dot without touching on its remarkable history. The festival first began in Nottingham, back in 2005. The festival aimed to give a platform to upcoming artists; an ethos it is still committed to today. In 2007, they expanded to Bristol. This was a clear success, so much so that in 2010, they continued their expansion to Manchester.

In 2017, Dot to Dot was rewarded for its success and was granted ‘Best Festival For Emerging Talent’ 2017 at the UK Festival Awards. Last year’s festival was a welcome relief after the COVID lockdowns, setting the precedent for this year’s to be absolutely breathtaking.

This month, the festival will commence on Saturday 28th May in Bristol at several iconic locations, including the Bristol Beacon, Thekla, and The Louisana. The Dot to Dot finale will occur on Sunday 29th May in Nottingham at multiple beloved venues, such as Rock City, Rescue Rooms, and The Bodega.
