Godiva Festival has continued to grow year-on-year and will return to the War Memorial Park in Coventry for its 25th anniversary in July. It’s set to host a diverse array of artists for music lovers; from indie royalty Richard Ashcroft, to the young and undiscovered talent from the local music scene.

The former The Verve front-man will no doubt put on a thrilling headline performance, with an extensive back catalogue of genre-bending music. After the success of The Verve, Ashcroft has gone on to become a successful solo artist, with three UK top-three solo albums, and is well renowned for his musical ingenuity, which makes for a captivating live experience.

Meanwhile, it’s a homecoming show for The Primitives, who will be bringing their raucous brand of indie-pop to the Coventry masses, with hit song Crash sure to be a crowd favourite.

For fans of dance music there’s plenty to get your groove on to, including old school 90s artist, DJ SS, London-based drum & bass DJ Sonication and exciting upcoming producer, Georgie Riot. Former boxer Holy Goof is another Coventry local who will be playing to a home crowd and bringing the energy with his unique take on UK garage and baseline house music.

The festival has also been holding a battle of the bands competition, ‘Godiva Calling’, which gives artists from Coventry and Warwickshire the chance to perform on the main stage - a great opportunity for upcoming local bands looking to get their name out there, as well as chance for the audience to discover something new.

Besides the music, the festival offers a variety of food and craft stalls, a vintage market, funfair rides and more, ensuring it’s as much a celebration of the city and the community as it is the music.

Godiva Festival takes place from 5th-7th July, tickets are available here
