Nell Mescal treats us to new single ‘Punchline’ and announces UK & Irish Headline Tour
The tour will take place this autumn, with more new music expected from the Irish singer-songwriter in the coming months.
Alongside the announcement of a series of headline dates across the UK and Ireland this autumn, Ireland’s hottest new talent Nell Mescal has today shared her fourth single Punchline.
The new track comes after what has been a very hectic month for the singer-songwriter, which included support slots with P!NK at Hyde Park, Florence & The Machine across Ireland, as well as several dates supporting Dermot Kennedy in front of stadium-sized crowds.
Having received support from the likes of The New York Times and Cosmopolitan, and drawing inspiration from her childhood, relationships, Irish roots and family, Mescal’s latest single already sits comfortably amongst the handful of tracks she has released so far.
Mescal said: “I wrote punchline in my bedroom last year about a friendship ending before it needed to and the heartbreak that comes with it. It’s about trying to ‘win’ the friendship breakup by pretending it doesn’t hurt you that much, but still having that sick feeling you get in your stomach because you miss the other person.”
With upcoming slots at the likes of Latitude Festival, All Points East and Kendall Calling, Mescal will head back on tour to start her 12-date run this October.
Punchline is out now and tickets for Nell Mescal’s headline tour are on sale here.
