Slaney Bay announce forthcoming EP with lead single ‘EST’
After making waves with their debut EP just last year, the South West London risers are hoping to do the same in 2023.
Indie risers Slaney Bay have announced their upcoming EP Why Does Love Mean Loss? with the release of lead single EST.
Combining soft, breathy vocals and dynamic guitar riffs to create their rock-tinged dream pop sound, EST serves as a promising sign of what is to come from the trio’s forthcoming EP, further cementing their place within the alt-indie landscape.
On the track, frontwoman Cait Whitley said: “EST’ tells the tale of a love interest moving away. The whole song is imagined to take place inside an airport. You’re trying to psych yourself up to convince them to stay… but their boarding time is suffocatingly close. Is this your final chance to confess your feelings before they move to the Eastern Time Zone?”
Having already been hotly tipped by the likes of Dork and Under The Radar following the release of their debut EP A Life Worth Living just last year, the indie band have had a near perfect start to 2023 — not only gaining considerable press support, but also rightly earning several BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music spins.
With slots at renowned festivals The Great Escape, Gold Sounds and Dot To Dot, Slaney Bay have also had a busy few months on the live circuit, and are fortunately planning to keep the momentum up with further festival slots in August and September.
Why Does Love Mean Loss? is set for release on September 29th.
