Wet Leg announce second album with new single ‘catch these fists’
moisturizer will be released in the summer.
Wet Leg – the Isle of Wight five-piece founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers – has finally returned, and with a glimpse at their second album moisturizer no less.
In a frenetic display of howling synths, thunderous beats and deadpan vocals, the band has made the announcement with their forthcoming album’s lead single, catch these fists, which chronicles an interaction with a belligerent man – as happens a couple of times on moisturizer.
Joined by Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums) and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth), moisturizer is set to be an album where Wet Leg are unapologetically bolder, stronger and raunchier than ever before.
Filled with love songs of every type and produced by Dan Carey, all five members of the band are credited as being the writers behind this exuberant record. “We were just kind of having fun and exploring,” says Chambers. “We focussed on: is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together,” adds Teasdale.
On top of this, the band also announced a set of UK tour dates this May, including dates at London’s Brixton Academy and Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse.
Tickets for the May UK tour will be on pre-sale from Wed 9th April at 10am, with general sale starting on Fri 11th April at 10am. Pre-order the album here for access to the first pre-sale.
Wet Leg’s sophomore album moisturizer is set for release July 11th via Domino Records.
