The third iteration of When We Were Young Fest has come out (and not going down) swinging. Leaked early Monday and confirmed by several bands later the same day, the Las Vegas pop-punk festival claims its roots in full force. Different from previous years, performances will be largely based on albums being played in full alongside a few surprises.

The announcement puts each artist with their respective album, with the exception of Fall Out Boy and L.S. Dunes. Commemorative performances of classic albums include classics such as My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade, Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World, The Used’s In Love and Death, and All American Rejects’ self-titled album, with newer acclaimed albums like Neck Deep’s Life’s Not Out To Get You, Mom JeansBest Buds, Feel Something by Movements, and Bayside’s self-titled album to shake things up. The festival will also mark the reunion of Cobra Starship, who will be playing ¡Viva La Cobra! in full.

The 2023 festival wrapped a few weeks ago at the end of October, with headliners Green Day and Blink-182 and notable acts The Offspring, Rise Against, Sum 41, and Something Corporate. Following a similar strategy as last year, the festival is seizing on the opportunity to keep attendees coming back for more. While playing albums in full isn’t a new concept for the festival, having it be the trademark for 2024 is a bold move. Perhaps it will be a turning point for the festival, its performers, and fans alike.

General sale for When We Were Young Fest 2024 will be announced soon via the festival’s socials.
