False Futures share debut single ‘Fire Movement’
The collective harnesses the feel of a 90s rock track, and with what’s old being new, that’s a pretty great spot to find yourself in to start out.
False Futures debut single has the feel of a band who’s been around for years, setting a great precedent for what’s to come from them.
False Futures, coming out of the melting pot of music that is London, provide what feels like an impeccably high level track for their first swing at streaming and for their first swing at a debut track, as they have only been around as a group as far back as 2023.
Fire Movement, the three minute track brought to us by this group, is an excellent representation of indie rock as a whole, and it has that gritty feel that people who are looking for an era past to be reminded of seek out. Lead vocalist Mat Conner really shines on this track, cultivating an era-warping feeling with how his vocals and the incredible backing of the guitar come together, really creating something that feels like it’s in place in the alt/indie rock genre in the 90s as it is in current day.
Everything that circles around this track is equal as far as their individual parts. The fact that this is self-produced is absolutely insane, and the fact that this comes from a band that didn’t form all too long ago, only means that the sky’s the limit for what this quartet can do sonically. They’ve already created something special regarding a first impression and, with time, comes figuring out what direction to go musically and what works. I would say that this is a great direction to go, as this just hits the nail on the head in all of the right places.
