This latest release comprises everything you would be looking for in an indie pop song while still surprising you here and there.

Interesting, although very satisfying, changes of rhythms and tonalities switch nicely between the chorus and the verses. Aftershook still keeps a very typical indie pop vibe thanks to the continuous electric guitar and the bass both leading the way through the song and its very different energies.

The complex melody would almost certainly be a difficult one to sing acapella but, surprisingly, it flows nicely and is easy to listen to (in the best way possible) — taking you through a fast to slow-paced rhythm without a chance for you to get bored.

Halfway through the song an eccentric synth break comes in before the last chorus of the track, which gives off a rather pleasurable rock vibe thanks to the drums kicking.

On the lyrical side of things, they effortlessly match the melody and the vibe. Frankie Cosmos managed to depict the weirdness of our world: too complex to fully understand although too easy to get sucked into its system.

Inner World Peace is out October 21st via Sub Pop. Preorder here.
