Sorry bless our ears with ‘Let The Lights On’, their second single of the year

Sorry have shared a fun, summer track ahead of their second album Anywhere But Here, out later this year.

The North London five-piece began their 2022 with a mellow track: There’s So Many People That Want To Be Loved. However, those melancholic, hopeless romantics have been shattered with this new track, as the band celebrate the exhilaration of love. Joyous lyrics accompany the upbeat melody of the track, such as “I wanna scream that I found you”, which encapsulate the beautiful desperation of new-found infatuation.

Upon first listen, I felt as if I had been plunged into some sort of coming-of-age film. The light backing vocals and dancey drums fulfil the summery romance that this track brings. Let The Lights On is the perfect soundtrack for sunny days. This track is definitely closer to the sounds of Sorry’s 2018 single Cigarette Packet, than their debut record 925.

Asha Lorenz provides gorgeous vocals as always, which fuse perfectly with the instrumental and the uniquely, stunning lyrics which allow us, the listeners, to become lost in. Many — including us — excitedly anticipate the release of the sophomore album from Sorry later this year, and Let The Lights On is the perfect taste of what’s to come.

Anywhere But Here is out on October 7th via Domino Records.
