TV People conjure up nihilism-rock with new single ‘Disconnect’

Disconnect, the newest single from Irish two-piece TV People, features the wavering baritone of staple goth bands like Type O, Joy Division and Swedish pop-rock act Imperiet. But Disconnect also packs the infectious, riff-laden call-to-arms synonymous with the best of modern day British indie rock. It lingers like a shade between alternative and mainstream, promising something for the chart-huggers and the eyeshadowed alike.

Why can’t my life be more?” ponder the group, before chugging fist-first into the indie underground of youthful confusion and casual existentialism. This one is a rocker, a raver, and a thinker. It’s something more than just your standard indie anthem; it borders on the esoteric and proves undoubtedly hypnotic. It’s another home run from these Dubliners.
