Today, York-dwelling unit Bull announced the follow-up to their 2021 debut album Discover Effortless Living alongside the second taster, Red Rooves. If it’s anything like their previous efforts, we can expect expansive creativity, art that wouldn’t look out of place in a gallery and unmatched charisma from frontman Tom Beer.

The band have made a name for themselves in the indie scene, thanks to their fresh and exciting sound that pulls in help from a multitude of complementary instruments, with Tom often pulling a trombone out during live performances as well as in the studio.

New track Red Rooves keeps the familiar vocal tones but with the addition of 80s-esque backing vocals mixed with a host of layered instruments. Each play reveals something new, making for an upbeat, poppy song that is a gift that keeps giving, akin to Bull’s Smoke, a track that similarly twists and turns and moulds itself into something new at every corner.

If Start A New and Red Rooves are anything to go by, then the band’s second album will be a show of undeniable musicianship, coupled with the band’s admirable chemistry.
