It really is their best one yet, by the way.

While not busy giving Pontins free press, the indie outfit have been hard at work on their debut EP, Grand National, which is released on the 9th of April and has pretty much completely sold out everywhere. An impressive feat by far, proving that Liverpool is the place to be to find your next favourite band.

The first single—aptly sharing the title with the EP—is nothing short of what you’d expect from a band with Courting’s credentials. With the new single, comes a befitting accompanying music video, filmed in a pub and marrying the two together with ease.

Courting are never ones to disappoint, and deliver a song that makes you think “Sports Team who?” and leaves you with excitement for their forthcoming EP. If we get more of these rip-roaring riffs paired with the introspective genius of lead singer Sean Murphy O’Neill’s songwriting, then there’s no doubt the wait would have been worth it when the 9th of April swings around.
