A sign of the times: Crows preach to the disinterested youth in latest single ‘Bored’

The band announce their new album.

Bored is, in many ways, the quintessential modern-day punk-rock track. It’s got raw, electrifying guitar, crunch-fuzz sound, shouty vocals and lyrics on the disillusion of youth. “I’m just a sign of the times,” sings Crows’ frontman James Cox, as the music video version of himself tries to escape the clutches of a strange bird-man – the manifestation of an entire generation’s social pressures.

But Crows latest release isn’t just some preachy piece of social commentary; it’s a punk anthem full of fervour, passion and adrenaline. It invokes anger, solace and soul-gripping paranoia in equal measure. It’s a powerhouse made for the sweaty underground pubs and clubs; a national anthem for subterranean Gen Z-ers who don’t fit in anywhere else. If there was ever a tune in 2024 to bring out the nihilistic mosher in us, it’s Bored.

And, with the new track, comes word of a new album, Reason Enough, hitting our airwaves on September 27th via Bad Vibrations.
