Hey Kekulé is the new single from Texan group Font, from their upcoming debut album Strange Burden. Inspired by the Talking Heads and Cormac McCarthy, and released ahead of a tour with Yard Act in the US, it’s a track with a lot to live up to. Well, it delivers… and then some.

Hey Kekulé is as perplexing as it is catchy – with erratic melodies, fuzz-drenched backbeat and bipolar verses, it’s like a modern day’s Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, complete with anvil-clanging pulse. It’s also a track oozing with groove; a dance number as much as something raw and revealing. For fans of acts like Heartworms or Interpol, there’s a lot to gorge upon in these mere three minutes. It’s neurotic, claustrophobic and flawlessly put together.

Strange Burden is out July 12th via Acrophase Records.
