Crywank, formed of Jay Clayton, Dan Watson and newest recruit Jules Noel, hit the road at midday on the 3rd of May to break the World Record for most gigs played within 24 hours. It’s safe to say, the band have done that, and then some.

Despite causing quite the Twitter feud between themselves and self-confessed ‘punk’ Etonian Frank Turner, who attempted the world record the day after but only managed to hit fifteen, the band came out triumphant, if not without a shiny piece of paper telling them they’re the official world record holders.

Not only did they manage sixteen live performances in under 24 hours, but they also managed to rattle Prince Williams’ former classmate and his fanbase by simply attempting to break a record. Aren’t records there to be broken, or do we just not like a bit of healthy competition to keep things interesting?

Booking their recording-breaking tour in only three days and enlisting the help of fans, the band set off to play free 20-minute sets all over the UK to ‘unofficially’ break the record, inviting fans to one-off performances in intimate settings before their proper non-record-breaking tour kicks off later this month.
