Love Fiend drop dance-rock anthem ‘Hard Feelings’ ahead of debut LP
The band announce debut album ‘Handle With Care’.
Love Fiend’s Hard Feelings is a non-stop, pop-rock locomotive in the style of early ‘80s new wave, and to call it ‘addictive’ is an understatement. With matter-of-fact Byrne delivery and pulsing backbeat, this cryptic single is one hell of a debut, and a hearty amuse bouche for the group’s upcoming long play, Handle with Care.
The song ‘invites listeners to feel with their bodies rather than their heads’. Well, I defy anyone to stand still to this one – it was written for the Cicada Club and Whiskey a Go Go alike. The track is made complete with a lovably psychedelic music video; packed with mad scientists, flailing dance numbers and striped suits. It’s everything the umbrella of ‘alt’ music should be and a much-needed dose of odd in an increasingly monotone industry. If the LA group stick to this calibre, they may wind up becoming the next best thing to come out of California since the ‘Chili Peppers.
Handle With Care is out July 12th via In The Red Records.
