Rina Sawayama calls out The 1975’s Matty Healy during her Glastonbury set
The popstar took aim at her fellow label-mate before performing her hit ‘STFU!’

Before performing her track STFU! at Glastonbury yesterday, British pop star (and icon in her own right) Rina Sawayama called out The 1975 frontman, dedicating the song to him in a memorable intro that has travelled far and wide across the Internet.
“Tonight, this song goes out to a white man that watches Ghetto Gaggers and mocks Asian people on a podcast,” she said, before going on to announce, “He also owns my masters, I’ve had enough.”
Matty Healy was a director at Dirty Hit until April this year, leaving the role a few months after the podcast aired, seemingly due to backlash. The band are still label mates with the British-Japanese singer — Healy supposedly “scouted” Sawayama.
After joining the record label in 2020, she released her debut studio album, SAWAYAMA, before sharing a deluxe version that featured a cover of The 1975’s Love It If We Made It.
Towards the end of Rina’s noteworthy Glastonbury performance, she surprised the audience with a rendition of Limp Bizkit’s Break Stuff. Now that’s what I call one hell of a surprise.
