Following on from their debut album Cub, released back in 2022, Jacob Slater and co. have announced their second album Midas with heavy, gut-wrenching single July, a heavier approach that give us our second taster of the forthcoming album. With a bludgeoning chorus that repeats the simple yet honest “I’m ready to die” and a haunting beat reminiscent of early Nirvana, it’s safe to say the album that follows will be a contender for album of the year.

Not only is their sound growing in size but, since the debut album, the band have multiplied by four, leaving a once solo Slater part of a quartet and back stronger than ever.

The band will hit up a foray of festivals this Summer, including Dot to Dot (Bristol and Nottingham) next weekend before TRSNMT in July, Reading and Leeds Festival, and a welcome return to Cornwall to play Boardmasters.

Midas is out August 30th via Communion. Pre-order the sophomore album here.
