Nightbus share their second single ‘Mirrors’
The Manchester newcomers share their latest single.
For a person who loves music of the 80s and 90s, and is mad about anything remotely ska, the latest track from Nightbus is right up my street.
The follow-up to their debut single Way Past Three is a charming addition to their discography and is on par to match the magnetism captured in their first release.
The band consists of three members from the North of the UK — Olive, Jake and Zac — who formed the band in their current city of Manchester and have since signed with So Young Records.
This latest single transports me right back to my youth; effortlessly mixing multiple genres I grew up on like post-punk, new wave and electronica. The sound and its supporting beat wouldn’t sound at all out of place spinning on a record player back in the 80s, yet the band delivers a fresh spin on the sounds I was so accustomed to.
Through these two snippets into their musical abilities, I’ve heard whispers of Siouxsie and the Banshees; thanks to the guitar, Joy Division and New Order; with vocals that reminded me of Shakespears Sister.
Nightbus are a talented band that know how to put their own spin on sounds I’ve loved and still do; combining them all to make a collection of music I could listen to nonstop.
