The Monumentals release their first singles on ‘All the Luck’
The young indie rock band make their debut with three authentic tracks.
Indie rock newcomers, The Monumentals, recently shared their first release All the Luck, featuring three upbeat tracks that are sure to get you moving.
The three tracks, which were written before the UK’s first lockdown, chart the band’s life experiences so far, covering their sometimes challenging relationships with their friends and parents in a way that is very real for such a young band.
The clear relevance of these themes to the teenage experience makes their music greatly appealing to the younger generation, which I’m sure is where they’ll find some of their most dedicated fans. But even if (like me) you feel like you’re past your youth, these themes shouldn’t put you off this band. If you like a strong beat and exciting rock guitar riffs, you can’t go wrong by listening to their music.
The Monumentals frequently get the tone of their tracks spot on, with their sound reminiscent of noughties American rock. Their melodies and rhythm sections are undoubtedly strong, keeping the energy flowing throughout the singles as the band sonically recreates the feelings that inspired each song.
All the Luck’s catchy vocal call and response is reminiscent of sending and receiving a letter to a friend that has just moved away, while Funny Money and Fighting’s guitar riffs elevate the frustrated energy of the lyrics, encouraging pent-up irritation to also be released within the listener.
Yet, this is only the beginning for this new band as The Monumentals will release a second set of three tracks later this year.
