The Rooks’ new single, Renegade is an indie rock tune with a difference. Behind the catchy melody and stomping chorus lies a fresh pop sound, echoing the likes of Blossoms (fitting, given they’re opening for the indie giants on their Glasgow gig on October 19th), Kings of Leon and Noel Gallagher’s work with the High Flying Birds.

Scotland has long been a rich source of great indie rock, and The Rooks have no intention of bucking the trend, delivering some exciting, up-and-coming stomp-rock for the masses. Lead singer Ross Gardiner explains, initially, “…a few of us were having doubts of it being the next single. But everything you want in an indie rock anthem is here; all we have to do is listen.
