Mibi I’ll is the debut single of former Petty Cassettes frontman David WILTs. In his own words, it’s a reminder “that it is better to regret doing something than it is to regret not doing something”. It’s also a shot of pure Scottish indie-rock to the heart.

What opens as a soft, piano-led ballad ignites into a blistering power pop anthem, as catchy as the likes of early 2000s Mika with a splash of nostalgic adolescents. For a debut single, WILTs struggles to put a foot wrong, concocting something undoubtedly his own, while remaining well on the right side of catchy. Wilts muses, “I think I’d like to have it all and, while I can’t promise him that, there’s little doubt this single has everything you’d want in a three-minute track.
