Punk rocker David WILTs releases catchy solo single ‘Mibi I’ll’
The Scotsman goes solo.
Mibi I’ll is the debut single of former Petty Cassettes frontman David WILTs. In his own words, it’s a reminder “that it is better to regret doing something than it is to regret not doing something”. It’s also a shot of pure Scottish indie-rock to the heart.
What opens as a soft, piano-led ballad ignites into a blistering power pop anthem, as catchy as the likes of early 2000s Mika with a splash of nostalgic adolescents. For a debut single, WILTs struggles to put a foot wrong, concocting something undoubtedly his own, while remaining well on the right side of catchy. Wilts muses, “I think I’d like to have it all” and, while I can’t promise him that, there’s little doubt this single has everything you’d want in a three-minute track.
