Glenna Jane shares sapphic single ‘Juno’

The singer-songwriter’s first love song is the syrupy soundtrack to her queer becoming.

Following on from her 2023 pop-rock debut Late Bloomer, NYC based singer-songwriter Glenna Jane has returned with another hooky single, this time in the form of her very own sapphic anthem, Juno

Written roughly two years ago about the first girl she wanted to kiss; Juno explores the blurred lines between platonic and romantic love. Instantly transporting you to a 2000s romcom with its mellow guitars and soft pop-rock vocals, Glenna’s latest track feels like every slumber party, spin the bottle scene where the protagonist falls in love with her friend.

Maintaining her nostalgia-driven sound through shimmering guitars, wobbly synths and hip-hop style record scratches, Juno is not only a whimsical and wistful take on queer becoming, but also one that feels entirely authentic. Filled with as much sincerity and innocence as yearning and desire, the track’s colourful and saccharine notes make for a fuzzy-stomached tale that is easy to be played again and again.

Glenna’s ability to paint intimate scenes through detail-oriented lyrics and layers of unapologetic honesty continues to emphasise her strong songwriting abilities. She is the storyteller every queer kid wants and needs and is an artist that I’m sure many people can relate to.

Juno is the first single to be released from Glenna Jane’s debut EP Kid and is out now.
